A Whole New Ballgame

Clinton Wins in Texas and Ohio; McCain Is In as G.O.P. Choice

It’s the 7th inning and Obama is still up by a run but Clinton has gained some momentum. This is exciting, although I’m not pleased with the negative tone that the campaign has taken. Still, I guess it’s good practice for both Clinton and Obama, because the Republicans will certainly come at the Democratic candidate with everything they can muster.

More importantly, Johan Santana makes his second spring training start for the Mets today. Contrary to what DP has been intimating, players really are trying to work on specifics during the spring. I guess it makes for a few good yuks on the radio, but it’s gotten to the point where he’s beating the topic like a dead horse now. (Well, I guess it’s either that or The Great Brett Favre Conspiracy. I get the feeling that DP’s going to get the Warren Commission on the case ….) I wish he would get a real Baseball Guy on, like Tom Verducci or any of the SI baseball writers. Of course, getting KO or Peter Gammons on would be sublime, but that ain’t gonna happen anytime soon.

Palaver has mentioned a few times that KO’s contract with ESPN expires in March. I hope that’s true and that he’ll eventually rejoin DP at least once a week.
