I seem to be stuck in ThanksgivingMode. Even though we flipped all the calendars over to the new month and even with all the Christmas music on the radio and Christmas commercials (on tv, radio, the Internets, just about wherever you look) I haven’t really started to feel like ’tis the season.
I’m also stuck in HotStoveMode. A lot of news and rumor on baseball trades. I’ve come to realize, though, that the Mets don’t really have a lot of choice players to trade, so it’s kind of depressing to read about the Red Sox and Yankees in their bidding war for Twins’ pitcher Johan Santana. I feel like we have to sit on the sidelines and twiddle our thumbs until that deal is over, and then see if we can get any of the other pitchers who might be put on the market.
I definitely feel trapped by football. So much of the chatter on the DP Show is on the NFL and college football. I like football, but I don’t follow it as much as I used to. It’s more like just a way to spend time while waiting for baseball season to start again.
About 10 weeks left until spring training. Not like I’m counting. Or anything.
