Political Choices and another Pop Quiz

another Cleveland moment: The Colbert Report: Kucinich’s Deep Pockets

I took the quiz and Dennis came in first for me, too. seeing him with Colbert, I’m getting warmer to him. and even though I don’t live near his district, I’ve run into him and Elizabeth in the grocery store where I shop after work, so I’m going to guess we drink the same tea.

hey, it’s more than I have in common with any of the Republican candidates.

And added:

that comment was me. I’ve been up since 4:00am for a round-trip to Chicago today, and I tried to stay up to watch the Indians last night, except the cat slipped me a sedative. so I’m home again, with the cat and newts, and loopy tired, but I’d still vote for Dennis.

OK, I’m done.

I took the Minnesota Pulic Radio Select a Candidate quiz (the WQAD one was based on it; it’s somewhat more involved with the questions and choices) and Dodd and Kucinich came out on top, too. As mentioned in the other post, I don’t think either guy is going to make it to the convention (except perhaps as a possible VP candidate), so who do I turn to? Hillary placed slightly higher than Obama in these quick quizzes, and Edwards is in the mix. I’m not crazy about any of them. Michael Bloomberg has done a pretty good job with New York City. He’s also a Mets fan; if he won the presidency I’d love to see Mr. Met at the White House. Mr. Met would be a good VP. Better than Quayle.

Oh well. By the time our primary election comes around the decision will have been made for us. We live in one of those “other” states — one that doesn’t have a lot of electoral votes. Candidates fly over us on their way to California, Texas, and New York. I did vote for Bill Bradley back in 2000. He’d already dropped out but his name was still on the ballot and I liked him better than the others who were running. I also liked him when he was on the Knicks.

Great video with Kucinich. He does strike me as being genuine. Most candidates are rehearsed and packaged by their handlers. I’ve never run into a politician at the grocery store, but I have met Joseph Biden, Bob Kerry, and Newt Gingrich. I also saw JFK when I was very young.

Hope you can stay up and watch the BOS@CLE game tonight. Who are the cat and newts rooting for?

Here’s another quiz: “Gosh, I Love America!”: A 2008 Campaign Quiz. I got #2 wrong; I thought the answer was “A pit bull with a comb-over.”
