The quality of discussion has been nothing but net since DP returned to the show. Oh sure, he tried to bait Rip Hamilton, Reggie Miller, and Mark Jackson into saying something inflammatory regarding the John Amaechi story, but all three men were smart enough to not go for it. (DP is such a troublemaker.) Jackson, in particular, was eloquent and — dare I say? — articulate.
On Naked in the Shower and Other Reasons why Heterosexuals Fear Gay People:
rrgirl writes: cutting LeBron some slack seems fair in view of this quote after last night’s game(lifted from a Cleveland news website):
“It’s just one of those days,” said James on his struggles. “Sometimes a lot of guys have one of those days and they lose the basketball game. No matter what happens, I always trust my teammates…It wasn’t one of my best games, but my teammates picked it up and I did what I had to in the fourth.”
I’m thinking the value he puts on trust might have little to do with showers.
the dirt-digging noisemakers…let’s just say, I don’t expect much, and I’m rarely disappointed.
DP and KO may be appalled with the media fascination with the Anna Nicole Smith story, but LeBron probably doesn’t mind as it moves the media focus away from the subject of gay athletes.
A morbid aside: DP and KO mentioned that James Brown has yet to be buried. This got me to thinking about Ferdinand Marcos and how long it was between his death and burial. Marcos died in 1989 and Find a Grave reports that he is still above ground.
Dang.
