paulab, on Sacrilege!:
I grew up in Michigan and went to U of M, but after 20 years of living in Ohio I have finally converted to red and grey. Still, I remain a little conflicted…
Wow. That’s quite a conversion.
Re the Buckeye colors:
The football uniforms are OK, but I was watching one of their basketball games and Greg Oden looked like the Great Wall of Greyness. I think the uni’s would look better with a lighter grey.
Just a little fashion comment from a Washington alum, where the purple and gold is subdued in comparison to Oregon’s green and yellow. (Oregon playing on tv? Ouch! My eyes hurt!)
In listening to the DP Show today (and thank God he’s back, I was going into withdrawal after listening to all his substitutes) I was reminded that the game is being televised by Fox, so Musburger will be calling it on the radio. We’ll have to do what we did during the baseball playoffs: Have the tv tuned to Fox with the sound off and get the audio from ESPN Radio.
Hoping for a good game. Although after Boise State-Oklahoma the Buckeyes and Gators will not only have to have a stunning finish (multiple laterals a la Stanford-Cal ‘82 with the band storming the field?), a player is going to have to propose to his girlfriend live on national tv, and the winning coach is going to have to perform successful open heart surgery in the middle of the field — or leap a tall building in a single bound.
