You know how it is to discover something wonderful and anticipate a night of pure magic, only to have your hopes and fantasies dashed and ground into the turf?
Yeah. Thank you, Fox Television. Thanks a bunch.
After being teased into believing that we would have a baseball game to enjoy on tv last night (Baseball! On Thanksgiving weekend!) Fox switched over to some lame Aaron Spelling-, “Desperate Housewives”-type program sometime after the 3rd inning.
Bastards.
All we’ve had since since the World Series ended in October is keeping up with hot stove action, following winter league games (God bless streaming audio), and listening to Dan Patrick complain that Albert Pujols wasn’t picked NL MVP and Keith Olbermann complain about Derek Jeter not being voted AL MVP. (But I agree with KO: Jeter should have won. There is an anti-Yankee backlash. But although Joe Cowley [22 November DP Show] of the Chicago Sun-Times put Jeter 6th on his ballot, he also put Alex Rodriguez in his top 10 — leaving Joe Mauer off. Is that Yankee Love, or what? The Sun-Times has Cowley and Jay Mariotti. Boy, there’s a Dynamic Duo ….)
Has the Dominican Winter League started? We need to fly south ….
