We Need a Bigger Band

A script Washington would be awesome. I can see it. Lots of woodwinds. Drumline crossing the t. Flags looping the g. I spent six autumns watching script Bees. Good times.

Well, according to the OSU Marching Band Web site, there are 225 members in the band. I presume all 225 are needed to do Script Ohio.

225/4 letters (O-h-i-o) = x/10 letters (W-a-s-h-i-n-g-t-o-n)

Therefore x = 563

The Husky band would need 563 to do a Script Washington. We only have 240.

Maybe we can get away with doing a Script U-Dub.

You are most welcome. Not bad for a chemistry major who barely had enough credits to satisfy the social sciences requirements at Washington. I took only one history class. My professor was a Red Sox fan.

Lincoln is my favorite pre-20th century president. (For those of you scoring at home Lincoln was a Republican. And Lester Maddox was a Democrat. Politics is a funny beast ….) Of 20th century presidents my favorite is FDR.
